Since ancient times, in cultures around the world, white clothing has served as a symbol of purity, of virtue, of honor. From Catholicism to Islam to Shinto, white garments are worn for the most sacred of rites and traditions. In secular society, the color white is associated with innocence, cleanliness, and new beginnings. As the season turns from spring to summer, colorless clothes take their place as wardrobe staples, bright and crisp under the full glare of the sun. For our latest fashion editorial, photographer Tim Ashton and stylist Ilkin Kurt capture Jess PW in radiant, glowing white looks with a twist. Shredded, distressed, embroidered, or embellished, these designs are anything but safe.
Model: Jess PW at Vivien's Models. Hair by Joel Forman at After Winter Agency using Oribe. Makeup by Stoj Bulic at Artist Group using MAC Cosmetics. Photographer's assistants: Bananas Clarke and Seok-Yoon. Stylist's assistant: Kaitlyn Bosnjak. Digital operator: Daryl Orilaza. Production by Alexandra Kent. We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land, and pay respect to elders past and present.
