The Q
It was not that long ago that David Casavant was just a teenager scouring the internet for vintage Raf Simons, Helmut Lang, and other designers who helped define the early 2000s in menswear. Over the course of the decade since then, he has built up what is arguably the most impressive archive of iconic menswear from the late Nineties to today, offering an incomparable resource to designers, stylists, and historians alike. For our latest issue, Casavant reached deep into his Archive for some of his own favorite looks, photographed by Sam Waxman at The Q, New York's new multistory queer nightclub. The resulting story is a celebration of exuberance, creativity, and dedication, offering a look back at the recent past with a distinctive eye.
