Ryan Pfluger in Conversation with Janicza Bravo
On Saturday, Cero Magazine hosted a conversation between photographer Ryan Pfluger and director Janicza Bravo in celebration of the release of Pfluger's book Holding Space: Life and Love Through a Queer Lens, a collection of intimate images and text about a hundred queer, interracial couples photographed across the United States. Guests joined us at the West Hollywood Edition as the two longtime friends discussed the art-making process, questions of identity and representation, and offering agency to their subjects. Afterwards, Pfluger signed copies of his book before hosting friends downstairs at the hotel's club Sunset for drinks and dancing to music by Pläygirl, lit by the reflection of its iconic ceiling full of disco balls.
