Under the Fridge
For our second issue, we invited the London-based photographer Maisie Cousins to make a study of mold in all its vivid and vibrant glory. After several weeks of growth, she captured the various fungi from up close in images that are alluringly abstract, wonders of composition and color that carry the slightest hint of menace. Both beguiling and repellent at once, the final results provocatively encourage us to rethink our relationship with the natural world that hides in plain sight.
