In Filipino culture, the Bantay Tubig are a class of mythical water guardians, forming a link between land and sea. For our latest issue, Australian photographer Levon Baird and our fashion director Melissa Levy captured the model Ploy Rida on the shore of Sydney's secluded Little Bay Beach, bringing a raw edge to the season's shapeliest dresses. As Rida beckons from the rocky coast with a bejeweled hand, it's a reminder of our essential connection to nature—and the responsibility of all of us to protect it.
